MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

The Brazilian Journal of Alternative Dispute Resolution – RBADR (ISSN 2596-3201), published semiannually, is dedicated to the study of alternative dispute resolution (ADR), including Arbitration, Mediation, Dispute Boards, Dispute System Design, and Online Dispute Resolution, among other related topics.


THE JOURNAL

The Brazilian Journal of Alternative Dispute Resolution – RBADR is a double-blind, peer-reviewed academic journal published by Editora Fórum, based in Belo Horizonte, State of Minas Gerais, Brazil.

The Journal aims to provide a prominent international platform for high-quality and in-depth studies on conflict resolution methods, welcoming interdisciplinary and comparative approaches.


MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION

RBADR invites authors to submit original and unpublished manuscripts addressing any aspect of alternative dispute resolution.

Submission of a manuscript implies that:

  • the work has not been published previously; and
  • it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

Manuscripts intended for future publication in book form may be considered, provided they are first published in RBADR.


AI AUTHORSHIP POLICY

The use of Artificial Intelligence tools (such as ChatGPT or similar Large Language Models) does not qualify for authorship.

Permitted use:

  • AI tools may be used for language editing, grammar correction, and proofreading only.

Requirements:

  • All intellectual and analytical content must be entirely produced by the author(s);
  • Any significant use of AI tools must be disclosed in the Acknowledgements section.

All submissions are subject to editorial scrutiny during the desk review stage.


GENERAL GUIDELINES

Manuscripts must comply with the following formatting standards:

  • Font: Times New Roman, size 12
  • Line spacing: 1.5 (including quotations, footnotes, and references)
  • Pages: consecutively numbered

Word limits:

  • Articles: 5,000 to 7,000 words
  • Book reviews and case comments: 2,000 to 3,000 words

Additional requirements:

  • Notes must appear as footnotes, numbered consecutively
  • Footnote markers must be placed at the punctuation point using superscript numbers
  • Manuscripts must be submitted in Word format (.doc or .docx)

MANUSCRIPT STRUCTURE

All submissions must include:

  • Title
  • Abstract (maximum 250 words)
  • Up to 5 Keywords
  • Summary
  • Introduction
  • Main Text
  • Final Considerations
  • References (at the end of the manuscript)
  • Footnotes
  • Acknowledgements (if applicable)
  • Tables and Figures (inserted in the text, with captions)

REFERENCING STYLE

RBADR adopts the ABNT NBR 6023 standard.

  • All citations must be included in footnotes
  • A complete list of references must be provided at the end of the manuscript
  • References must be organized alphabetically by the author’s last name
  • DOI must be included whenever available

AUTHOR INFORMATION

  • The first footnote must include:
    • Full author affiliation
    • ORCID iD
    • Email address
  • The second footnote (if applicable) must include:
    • Funding information or acknowledgements of financial support

TABLES AND FIGURES

  • Must be inserted directly in the main text
  • Must be numbered consecutively
  • Must include clear and descriptive captions
  • Sources should be cited in footnotes where applicable

ETHICS AND PUBLICATION POLICY

RBADR follows the COPE Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing.

Key principles include:

  • Double-blind peer review
  • Scientific integrity and originality
  • Proper acknowledgment of sources
  • Disclosure of conflicts of interest
  • Ethical handling of research involving human subjects

There are no submission or publication fees.


OPEN ACCESS POLICY

RBADR operates under a one-year embargo model.

After this period:

  • Articles become freely accessible online
  • Content may be shared and reused with proper attribution
