Abstract

The purpose of this research study was the analysis the Ibero-American Congresses on Police Mediation in Public Security, with the main objective of building a scenario of reflection on police mediation as a fundamental mechanism of police service. Police mediation is a job which the polices are part, but not the only participant. It brings alternatives to the criminal justice system that has performed inadequately in the conflict resolution, which it has created vulnerability in the legal interests protection. The main results of the bibliographic study were a reasoned police model, with the transformation of the community and the construction of peace is based in the actions of the police forces. We emphasize prevention, proximity police and policing in a different way. We use deductive methodology and bibliographic and documentary research to demonstrate the integration of public agencies in violence’s confrontation.
